How to: Create a query in Excel.
Solution:
Select 'Get External Data...' from the 'Data' menu. Select the name of the data source to be used, then click 'Use'.
1) Select the 'Data' menu and select 'Get External Data...'. (The Select Data Source dialog box appears.)
NOTE: While Excel is waiting for data to be returned from Microsoft Query, Excel does not respond to either keyboard or mouse actions.
2) Select the name of the data source to be used in the 'Available Data Sources' list.
3) Click 'Use'. (Microsoft query displays a blank query form on-screen and then displays the Add Tables dialog box.)
4) Follow the 'Specify criteria' steps.
